Visit websites of other unsigned Glasgow bands (and other unsigned Scottish bands) from the links page. The first Moon album was released in June 2000 and was featured regularly on on the 10th series of MTV show 'Real World', gaining the band worldwide exposure. It also got rave reviews in the Scottish press and got a lot of national radio airplay. They have released 2 albums (Moonmagic and Living and learning) on their own DIY label without any financial backing, managing to get tracks featured on TV, compilation albums and regular airplay on radio stations all over the world. Moon recently played live and were interviewed on the Saturday Show Extra on Childrens BBC TV in the UK, performing alongside current UK top acts. They were the first 'unsigned' Scottish band to be on the show. The band gig regularly on the Scottish and Glasgow live music scene packing out the main gig venues like King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, Nice 'n' Sleazy, Stereo and the 13th Note, building up a loyal following and establishing themselves as one of the best Scottish guitar pop bands around. They supported ex Deacon Blue frontman Ricky Ross at his sell out solo gig at Glasgow's King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, playing their first ever acoustic set. The band also supported El Presidente (ex GUN) at King Tuts, and soon afterwards Supported Mark Shaw of 'Then Jericho' at the same venue. 2003 started well for Moon. The second album 'Living and learning' was featured on the 11th series of MTV show 'Real World', gained the band even more fans. The new year also saw moon refine their sound. They have an albums worth of new material ready for the release of the 3rd album ( hear and download selected new songs here ). Drummer James Lindsay joined the band in June 2003, giving the live sound much more power. The band recently performed their first ever 2 hour set, in a small venue in the borders of Scotland. Moon were filmed by Scottish Television programme 'Nochd Gun Chadal' on Thursday 5th February 2004, performing a 30 minute live set. The new series is aired in the UK in March and will feature moon for the entire show on Tuesday 6th April (just after midnight) and again on a compilation show on Tuesday 27th April. A third album should be finished sometime in 2004.
